INDOOSTAN UNRAVELLED
one day to the fair land of Indoostan
came a man from Ameristan,
't was in search of answers 'quoth he that he travelled afar;
Democracy was diluted,not just due to the war on terror,or,
How bill pardoned his brother and bush his scooter,
Billions being skimmed,while soldiers were being laid low'
opinions manipulated,wires tapped and Abu ghraibs galore,
The eagle hesitantly soars and the stars sparkle no more'
A nation divided with stark choices,
What tragedy! From the land of opportunities to the starkness of uncertainities;
Wait.. bellowed the fat man..How dare you,He shouted
In his white Khaddar and his leather chappals,
Who are you to take this glory,The shame and the story?
We may be newcomers to this game,let me assure you we are not lame;
Pardons - who needs them,only fools go to courts,
Scams are dozens galore and soldiers are meant to fall,
After all,it is the lowest bidder who gets the call!
Opinion- shopinion is bukwas,where in the lords name have you been living?
5 minutes of prime time,thereafter it's just a state of mind'
Bhagalpur beat Ghraib by years,Undertrials locked up for years,
20 years without a plea,ain't it life's irony?
Talking of genocide,have'nt you heard of female foeticide?
Talk of precision strikes,ever heard of burning brides?
With mounds of rotting grains,Starvation still causes pain,
Blasts in mandir,masjid and trains,
Sullen glow of hatred and passions inflamed;
I could go on and on.. but it's best that you be gone,
we are the kings of shams,
The scurrying scarabs of Scamistan,
We have to democracy given a new name,
What a pity,t'is you who feel the pain!!
