First of all a warm welcome in advance for being our guest for this years RDP. We are looking forward to you and of course the delectable Ms Bruni! Man, you have sure put the stuffy mandarins in a spin by not indicating your relationship status with darling Carla! Indeed sooner or later some one in our political firmament is bound to create a ruckus ,about Carla D ,but never you mind,they are plain jealous.
You see , we Indians love sex (there are over a billion of us in our own country,how do you think we got there ,not by playing hop scotch but the game of twenty toes - right!!), but, we dont talk about it,nor do we flaunt unsanctioned relationships(not that we dont do them or the fact that we bitterly envy those who do!),c'est la vie.
So the way I see it is that you are likely to face some storm,maybe in the parliament,maybe some gits gheraoing the alliance francaises etc, and all for what,that you are not married .
Now, I can be of help to you.. you see I run this Marriage beaurex(spell check) and I make this proposal (business only please) why dont you get married in India.
Just imagine the press,the media rights,the moolah and the interest that will be generated.. I mean not only do we make money but you know the exotic value may just sweep your popularity ratings to the heavens.I am sure that we can arrange a few controversies to liven up the things,get the ball rolling,say a couple of snaps of you and Carla in a tight squeeze at the Khajaraho temple,demonstration by the locals saying that this is a sell out to wetern mores etc,you know skys the limit.
What about the hosts? Oh piffle... they'd love it ,why I'm sure that our tourism ministry would be over the top with all the free publicity, some others would be happy that you have given them an issue to impress the vote banks,Maya ji would get an opportunity to suspend a few officials,Karan thapar would get a topic for his advocacy show,Cyrus would have a field day,.... AND the best thing for the last ,my friends at Sulekha would get a topic to chew,masticate and regurgitate for atleast a week,just imagine the Literary outpouring that would ensue!!
So do be kind and say yes quickly,and remember, I should be your man in India.. where else would you get such a quintensential french lit name as mine, and ,if Alex de Large approaches you,remember it was my idea!!

Quasimodo, are you french living in India? I see lot of 'french connection' in your blogs- and the letter is perfect...you are right about hosting the perfect wedding - we Indians love scandal (also)and indulge our time which has absolutely nothing to do with us...what could be better for us and for them..hope Nik takes the offer - to make it official ;)
