dear CB,
I guess it is both in equal measure at varying points of time and mood. To achieve the former is more immediate in most cases ,while the latter is the essence of life itself.
I like the endorphin laced high gained from physical challenge,also what I have seen is that we,regardless of age generally enjoy a comune with nature..being forced into a physical challenge at times,forces an immediacy with our surroundings and also contibutes to getting to know ourselves

and i do not need to go climb a mountain (unless its my physical stamina under question) as there are many opportunities (albeit not all are actualized) to have Peak Experiences - wherever I experience beyond the self-imposed lakshman rekha I have a profound (self)-defining moment..

I like the easy flow of words - which are like a screenplay making the reader a partner on your journey...
