THE SAPLING AND THE VINE
LONG AGO A GARDNER ,IN TWO CORNERS OF HIS BOWER,
PLANTED A YOUNG VINE AND A STRIPPLING SAPLING,
UNDER THE BLUE SKY,FRESH CARESSING WIND AND A BOUNTIFUL SUN,
THEY GREW APACE,
THE SLIM VINE WAS FASTER OFF THE BLOCKS,
HER NUMEROUS TENDRILS SHOOTING FORTH,
DELICATELY PROBING FOR SUPPORT,
TILL THEY FINALLY FOUND THE FADED WHITE FENCE,
THE SAPLING WAS SEEMINGLY SLOW,
IT'S GIRTH YET TO ACQUIRE A MASCULINE GROWTH,
IT'S ROOTS DRIVEN DOWN,
FIRMLY ANCHORED IT WAS,
THE VINE BLOOMED ASUNDER,
ALONG THE FADED FENCE,
THE SAPLING SHOT UP ,
SHELTERING THEM INSTEAD,
ALONG CAME ONE DAY ,A SULLEN OMEN!!
GREY BOILING AND ROILING CLOUDS,
BANSHEE WINDS SCREAMING OUT LOUD,
THE SLATS OF THE OLD FENCE CLATTERED,
AS THE FURY OF THE STORM BATTERED,
THE VINE FELT IT'S OLD FRIEND ADRIFT,
SOUGHT FOR HELP BUT COULD NOT FIND IT,
THEN ,
A STRAY TENDRIL GRASPED THE SAPLING'S BARK,
THE SAPLING GROANED IN PAIN,
AS THE VINE SOUGHT PAINFUL PURCHASE,
THROUGH THE NIGHT,THE FURIOUS STORM THEY ENDURED,
WHEN THE MORNING CAME ,THE FENCE WAS NO MORE,
THE TWO FRIENDS STOOD LOCKED IN FEARFUL EMBRACE,
OVER THE YEARS,THE BOND GREW STRONGER,
LIKE LOVERS THEIR EMBRACE GREW STRONGER,
LIFE'S SEASONS PASS,
ALL LIVING THINGS FOREVER CAN'T LAST,
THE VINE WAS FIRST GO,
THE TREE SOON TO FOLLOW,
THE GARDNER'S SON CAME HOME ONE DAY,
SAT ON THE STEPS,
SURVEYED WHAT HIS FATHER HAD MADE,
A PROMISE MADE HAD BEEN KEPT,
NEVER TO LET GO ,
IN THEIR LIFETIME,
NOW,WHEN THE FINAL LINK WAS GONE,
IT WAS TIME FOR HIM TO MOVE ON,
BUT BEFORE HE SOLD THE LAND,
WITH HIS OWN TWO HANDS,
HE PRIED THEM OUT OF THE STUBBORN SAND,
TOOK THEM TO HIS WORKSHOP AND MADE THEM SHINE,
THE TWO LOVERS STILL STAND UNITED,
UNDER THE GOLDEN ARCADE,
THE DAILY STREAM OF PEOPLE NEVER CEASES,
SOME PAUSE,SOME CASUALLY GLANCE,
AND SOME..
TRY TO IMAGINE THEIR ETERNAL ROMANCE!!
( LONG AGO ,ON A VISIT TO AN ARMY MESS IN SHILLONG I HAD COME ACROSS A BEAUTIFUL NATURAL SCULPTURE,WHICH TODAY HAS BECOME AN INSPIRATION FOR THE POST.)

Quasimodo
This is a splendid blog.
I can see life...and the journey of two souls beyond the realm of the known.
This made me think of different dimensions...of relationships.
Beautiful
Nupur
